Born in Amersfoort, The Netherlands in 1967 I had an early interest in drawing.
After successfully graduating ‘The School of Decoration’, followed by a job in Stand-Design,
I started working for myself in 1992. Making murals, illustrations and 3D objects from polyester and concrete was my profession. Clients were funparks, swimmingpools and restaurants.
In the summer of 2007 I witnessed a group of streetpainters, making streetpaintings in my hometown Utrecht, and immediately I got very excited about this great art form !
Since my first drawing in 2008, streetpainting is an important part of my work and life.
From making 2D-streetpaintings in the traditional way at first, I started to get interested in the technique of making 3D-streetpaintings.
After making a lot of this anamorphic paintings I got a specialized in this part of streetpainting. The 3D paintings are made for commercial assignments and streetpaint festivals.
3D streetpainting is a great challenge for creativity and skills. Besides that, it’s also a very social happening with the public. Hopefully I will be doing it for a long time!
Born in The Hague, The Netherlands. Started as a professional artist in 1996.
The first few years I mainly worked for cinema’s and theaters, painting large billboards advertising new movies and theater productions. From this followed jobs doing murals, lettering and signs for shops, illustrations and cartoons for magazines.
I make acrylic and oil paintings in a realistic or surrealistic style and sometimes like to make use of perspective tricks. When I came in contact with street painting I could use this for anamorphic(3D) street art.
Street art is an artistic challenge and a performance. The artist is out in the open and has to create in a limited time. The art is a living illusion that fades as soon as it is created.
